BIO:
After graduating from Mechanical and Materials Engineering from Queen’s University, Tea Nicola embarked on a decade long career journey in manufacturing, tech and finance which ultimately led her to co-found WealthBar Financial Services, Canada’s First exclusively online wealth manager.
She pioneered digitization of Canadian finance industry and led WealthBar as a CEO for a decade before she sold it to CI Financial Services in 2019.
During her tenure at WealthBar, Tea was an industry thought leader and was recognized as such by The Globe and Mail and Wealth Professional and many other publications and media outlets.
As a tech industry executive, Tea won many awards, such as Business in Vancouver Top 40 under 40, Most Influential Women in Business, Top 500 BC Business Leaders of All Time, and has been a finalist of YWCA Women of Distinction Awards, Wealth Professional CEO of the Year (multiple years), Trailblazer of the Year (multiple years) and Woman Executive of the Year.
Tea is passionate about life long learning, so being an Acetech CEO was a natural fit. She really enjoys spending time with smart and innovative people and is looking forward to how we can grow the organization.
Personally, she has been a huge fan of dramatic arts. After life as a Finance CEO, she embarked on studying acting on camera and completed Pro Actors Core Essentials I and II at Vancouver Academy of Dramatic Arts. Tea appeared in a theatre production of Matilda (Rudolpho) at Inlet Theatre and in a short TV series, I Killed Maddie Forbes (Catherine St. Neil). Tea quickly realized that running productions is a lot more fun than being in them and she began learning the ropes. She currently runs theatrical event productions for Eventology Canada and has recently been involved in an Academy Awards Campaign for a Live Action Short Sevap/Mitzvah. She is currently in pre-production for a feature For Buraz, planned to screen in 2025.
