Discovery Foundation’s Mastering Emotional Intelligence in Communication

  • BDC Square 1133 Melville Street, Suite 1500 Vancouver, BC, V6E 4E5 Canada (map)

This event is part of the Discovery Foundation's Core Acetech Program.

"I am not who I think I am; I am not who you think I am; I am who I think you think I am." ~ Charles Cooley

The way we communicate, the way we approach problems and the way we approach other people is based on our own past, our own interpretations and our own biases.

Are we always aware what those biases are? And can we all say with certainty that we can fully relate to the members of our team, empathize and understand completely, especially when things go wrong or we are not at our best?

We are all different in our own way, but there are certain similarities and certain behaviours which can slot us into a few categories. Understanding what those categories are and what the pros and cons of each archetype is can open lines of communication, remove conflict and almost completely eliminate misunderstanding.

Wouldn’t it be amazing if every time you were impatient to the outside world or your team, instead of taking it personally and creating conflict, they approach it rationally and critically and work towards a solution?

In this workshop, you have an opportunity with your team to establish basic characteristics of our archetypal behaviour and learn techniques that will allow you to communicate in a productive manner.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?

You (the CEO) and the members of your strategic leadership team that you work with directly and for whom it would be very beneficial to “understand your style” at a deeper level.

You can do this on your own, but the impact will be much greater by bringing team members to this workshop.

WHY ATTEND?

This will be a safe space for high performing teams to discuss their communication shortcomings and learn how to adapt to them so that it does not hinder, but rather enriches your leadership team and makes your productivity skyrocket.

Attendees will gain practical tools to enhance team trust, support, and collaboration, ultimately driving success and innovation.
